World Building Workshop

World Building Workshop

Teacher: Simon Jon Andreasen, sja@filmskolen.dk

Fictional universes have become mainstream. We experience them in books, films, TV series, computer games, role-playing games, transmedia entertainment and other contexts. These universes are the foundation of all fiction and work across all media platforms.

11 of February I am hosting a workshop on how to create fictional universes based on existing stories and art. The workshop is experimental and is a part of my artistic research project Adapting Worlds. In this project, the aim is to explore how we can take the gold of fiction (film, theatre, stage, music and other storytelling formats) and by using worldbuilding bring the great artistic storytelling of the past into a transmedial digital future.

Who: artists working with fiction and storytelling in film, theatre, literature, stage art, music, interactive and more.

What: a mix of lectures and workshops

This is how you participate: send us a short description (one line) about who you are and your favourite piece of fiction

The workshop is a continuation of my previous artistic research Storyworlds 2.0
