ARTIST STATEMENT

I am a Portuguese performer, composer, producer and mixed-media artist based in Copenhagen. My main medium of expression is sound, which hints at my interest in its embracing qualities within space. I have been experimenting with voice and electronics and my affection for perception sparks the exploration of words, language, translation and symbols. I take inspiration from rituality, folk tradition and abstract electronics, as well as the chaotic soundscapes of our daily life. I navigate towards reinvention, deconstruction and explorative ways of moving forward while carrying ancient knowledge as if cooking without a recipe but with the reminiscence of a family cookbook. I set the table for collective vulnerability, creating holistic performances in a nurturing manner, activating sensorial communication, while looking for light in dark broken places; touching matters like cycles and relations, wounds, grief and alchemic-like transitional states.
