UNDERVISNINGS- OG ARBEJDSFORMER

Module I – Voice, Decolonization and Uttering Multiplicities – Define

Duration: 4h

The composer, vocalist and concept engineer, Marcela Lucatelli, presents her aesthetic strategies for a new, intercultural communal experience based on the concept of multiplicities – both as a cumulative, cultural phenomena but also as a byproduct of the individual, manifold and polysemic listening and sound-making body, revealing how traditional aesthetics of the sublime and beautiful are inextricably linked with racialized, gendered, and class oppression.

Module II – Voice and Body – This Can Happen (The Wanderer)

Duration: 4h

Investigation of the body dynamics in vocal invention. Trajectories in exploring the vocality of words and sensations. How to discover new vocal possibilities through the physicality of the gesture? How to think compositionally using voice, gesture and body in space? Compositions will be worked on in small groups developing the topics explored so far.

Module III – Voice and Timbre – Make me a Resonator

Duration: 4h

Inquiries into the voice and its unique and unexplored timbre possibilities. Practical exercises to stimulate the discovery of the sonic topographies of each participant’s voice, through sound incursions into posthuman perceptions and the composition of singular physicalities, with the possible use of prostheses and objects. Assessing the acoustic cumulative possibilities of resonating spaces and their semantic potentialities.

Module IV – Voice and Composition – Ignite (The Jungle)

Duration: 4h

How to work with extended vocal technique in the context of song, composition and improvisation? We will conclude this module with a collective composition for a new, semiotic ’’choir’’, based on the sonic material and techniques worked through the course. Here, each participant has the opportunity to delve a little deeper into their field of vocal interest, with the supervision from the course leader and benefiting from the analysis of their individual potentials and sharing their explorations, both as a group and as singular individuals.
