Creativity and innovation in project work

Teacher: Morten Svenstrup

During this course, we will explore one of the most fundamental skills of any musician/composer – our listening.

We engage the ability of our consciousness to listen both intensely focused and all-encompassing. And to always know which one we use. What happens if we listen to all that is possible to hear, in as many different ways as possible, 24 hours a day?

The work is based on Deep Listening® as developed by avantgarde composer and humanitarian Pauline Oliveros. The practice explores the deeply personal listening of each student, and teaches new ways of listening.

Deep Listening is experimental at its core, and aims to be precise and reflective. Body awareness work is a central part of the course too, and will be explored through Chinese martial arts. Come and listen!
