Rites of Passage

Purpose

A cross-artistic study of parting with identity.

Project description

Rites of Passage was a cross-artistic collaboration that resulted in an exhibition, where art students from CAKI’s membership schools made works based on the “farewell object” – that is Julie Sparsø Damkjaer’s hair. The art works created the frame for the final performance of the project, where Julie finally said farewell to her hair. The audience was invited to participate in a dialogue with the performance and the works.
